Root code execution via unbounded parameter copy
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in H3C Magic R200 R200V200R004L02 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted request. The EditSTList handler at /goform/aspForm passes the attacker-controlled param value to strcpy without checking the destination stack buffer size. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants a root shell; oversized input can also crash the router.
