Stored XSS via unrestricted branding file upload
Published Jul 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Open Source Point of Sale 3.3.7 allows remote authenticated users to store active content through branding settings. The Update Branding Settings page accepts an uploaded branding file without restricting it to safe image types, enabling stored script content. Administrative configuration access is required; the crafted asset executes script in a browser that renders it, without a demonstrated server-code path.
