Stored cross-site scripting in PHPFox 4.8.9 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts through crafted status posts. The Status component accepts attacker-controlled post content, stores it without neutralizing executable markup, and later renders the payload when a mentioned user opens the resulting notification. Exploitation requires that victim interaction, and execution is confined to the victim's browser context under the PHPFox site's origin.
