Account compromise via unthrottled API password guessing

Missing API rate limiting in IKUS Software Rdiffweb before 2.5.0 allows attackers to make unlimited password guesses. The API basic-authentication check did not record failed password validations, so repeated invalid credentials did not exhaust the configured request allowance. The API must be network-reachable; successful guessing grants the compromised account's permissions, while repeated requests consume service resources.
