Arbitrary code execution via dependency confusion
Published Jul 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Dependency confusion in WMAgent, reqmgr2, reqmon, and global-workqueue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code during installation. The packages' setup.py passes requirements.txt entries to install_requires, including dbs-client 3.7.8 despite that name having no PyPI distribution. An attacker who registers the name can make pip install package code with the privileges of the process installing an affected release.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
