Authenticated server-file disclosure via downloadServlet traversal
Published Jul 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Sims 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through the attachment download interface. The downloadServlet endpoint accepts ../ sequences in its filename parameter and resolves them outside the intended attachment directory. A valid low-privilege session is required; exploitation exposes files readable by the application account without changing data or interrupting service.
