Service interruption via recursive XML entity expansion

XML entity expansion in Siemens Mendix Excel Importer before 9.2.2 or 10.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The Excel import path accepts DTD entities whose recursive expansion consumes unbounded processing resources while parsing a crafted workbook. An authenticated user must reach an application-defined upload and import flow; successful exploitation exhausts the affected component rather than reading or changing data.
