SMRAM code execution via malformed SMI input

Improper input validation in Dell BIOS through 2.17.0 allows local users with high privileges to execute arbitrary code in SMRAM via an SMI. Dell identifies the input as an SMI but has not disclosed which handler accepts it or which validation operation is missing before it reaches SMRAM. Successful exploitation crosses the operating-system boundary and permits code to run inside firmware-protected memory.
