Unauthenticated Docker image alteration via registry API
Published Sep 1, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Authentication bypass in Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery before 19.11.0.2 allows remote attackers to alter Docker images through its registry API. Dell identifies the Docker Registry API on the management host as the affected locus but has not disclosed the authentication check or alternate path that fails. Network access to the registry service is required; successful exploitation permits unauthorized image access and modification, compromising confidentiality and integrity.
