CVE-2022-34303

Pre-OS code execution via trusted EFI shell

Published Aug 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Secure Boot bypass in Eurosoft UEFI bootloaders before 2022-06-01 allows local users to execute arbitrary code before the OS loads. The signed bootloader exposes an EFI shell that accepts unsigned code while remaining trusted by Secure Boot. Exploitation requires high-privilege access to replace the current bootloader on the EFI System Partition and can establish pre-OS persistence that evades host defenses.
