Admin-level stored XSS via unescaped settings
Published Dec 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Stored XSS in Advanced WP Columns 2.0.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through plugin settings. The plugin's setting input boxes accept script markup without sanitization, and their stored values are rendered without output escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and a victim must view the stored content; the script then runs within the vulnerable site's browser origin.
