CVE-2022-34228

Code execution via uninitialized embedded-font pointer

Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Access of uninitialized pointer in Adobe Acrobat Reader allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious file or page. The embedded-font parser accesses memory through a pointer that is not properly initialized while processing attacker-controlled font data. Affected Continuous, 2020, and 2017 builds on Windows and macOS execute the result in the current user's context only after the user opens the file or visits the page.
