Account takeover via exposed password-reset tokens
Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in ToolJet before 1.26.1 allows remote attackers to obtain password hashes and password-reset tokens. The GroupPermissionsService.findUsers query returned complete User entities after joining permission records, exposing sensitive columns until an explicit field allowlist was added. No authentication is required; a retrieved reset token permits an account password change, while password hashes support offline cracking.
