Authenticated server-side requests via unchecked form validation
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Jenkins ThreadFix Plugin 1.5.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to make server-side requests. The plugin's server-side form-validation method accepts a caller-controlled URL and attempts a connection without checking the caller's authorization. Overall/Read permission is sufficient; the bounded effect is an outbound connection from the Jenkins controller, with no reported response disclosure.
