Attacker-directed connections via GET-enabled form validation
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in Jenkins ThreadFix Plugin 1.5.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to make Jenkins connect to an attacker-specified URL. The form-validation method accepts state-changing requests without requiring POST, so attacker-controlled content can invoke it through a browser. A logged-in user with Overall/Read permission must visit that content; the Jenkins controller then initiates the specified connection.
