Stored XSS via unescaped parameter metadata
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Stash Branch Parameter Plugin 0.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in browsers. The plugin renders Stash Branch parameter names and descriptions on parameter-listing views without escaping their stored values. Item/Configure permission is required, and exploitation also depends on a page that lists the parameter without Jenkins core's hardened rendering.
