Stored XSS via unescaped parameter metadata
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Project Image Tag Parameter Plugin 1.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in viewers' browsers. The plugin renders attacker-controlled Image Tag parameter names and descriptions on parameter-listing views without HTML escaping. Item/Configure permission is required, and exploitation also requires a parameter-listing page not hardened like Jenkins core's default pages.
