Stored XSS via unescaped parameter metadata
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Jenkins Date Parameter Plugin 0.0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via crafted parameter metadata. The plugin renders Date parameter names and descriptions without escaping on views that display parameters, allowing attacker-controlled markup to persist and execute when a user views the page. Exploitation requires Item/Configure permission and victim interaction with the affected Jenkins view; impact is browser-side script execution with the victim's Jenkins session context.
