Administrator code execution via unsafe ZIP extraction
Published Nov 7, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Arbitrary file upload in WP All Import before 3.6.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code through an import. The multisite import handler extracts a ZIP containing an exploit.php.txt file and an .htaccess rule that assigns PHP handling to .txt files without rejecting the dangerous combination. WordPress multisite administrator privileges are required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands in the web server context.
