Script execution via unrestricted badge link
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Jenkins Embeddable Build Status Plugin 2.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted badge link. The badge endpoint places the unrestricted link query parameter into an SVG hyperlink without correct escaping or a protocol allowlist. Exploitation requires a user to click the crafted badge, allowing script execution in that user's Jenkins origin.
