Authenticated code execution via disguised PHP upload
Published Jul 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Barangay Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server-side code. The activity.php module accepts a PHP file in the files[] field when its multipart MIME type is declared as image/png, then stores it in the web-accessible activity/photo directory without validating its extension or contents. A Super Administrator session is required; requesting the stored file executes its PHP payload with the web server's privileges.
