Low-privilege SYSTEM shell via paused uninstall
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Insufficient access control in Crestron AirMedia Windows Application 4.3.1.39 allows local users to gain a SYSTEM command prompt by pausing uninstallation. The uninstallation workflow permits a user to pause removal of an executable, leaving a privileged command context accessible. A local low-privilege user must control the application workflow; successful exploitation provides system-level command execution with confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.
