Improper resource shutdown in Motorola smartphone modem firmware before 2022-11-01 allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt calls. While USB tethering shares the mobile connection, originating a call resets the modem instead of preserving service; Motorola does not disclose the mishandled resource. The device must be tethered and sharing its mobile network, and a user must originate a call; the resulting reset interrupts the call, including an attempted emergency call.
