Malicious dependency inclusion in PyPI watertools 0.0.0 allows attackers to execute code when the package is installed. Installing watertools 0.0.0 from a surviving mirror also installs the malicious request package, placing its code in the same Python environment. Exploitation requires installation from an index that still serves request; the installed code can expose sensitive information and cryptocurrency keys and obtain higher privileges.
