Unauthenticated command execution via overprivileged agent tokens
Published May 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 3, 2025
Authentication bypass in Acronis Cyber Protect and Cyber Backup allows remote attackers to execute commands via anonymous agent registration. The registration and identity endpoints issue bearer tokens whose excessive scopes are also accepted by the management console. Network access to the default on-premises service is sufficient to change appliance settings, execute commands on the server and agents, and read protected data.
