Victim-browser script execution via reflected login parameter
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in the Wavlink WN533A8 M33A8.V5030.190716 web interface allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser. The unauthenticated /cgi-bin/login.cgi handler returns the login_page POST parameter inside an executable script context without neutralizing quote and statement-breaking characters. A victim must submit an attacker-crafted request to the device; the injected script then runs in the origin of its management interface, allowing browser-accessible data to be read or modified.
