Unauthenticated credential disclosure via exposed page source
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect authorization in WAVLINK WN533A8 firmware M33A8.V5030.190716 allows remote attackers to read stored login credentials. The unauthenticated sysinit.shtml response embeds the username and password in client-side logincheck and syspasswd values. Any attacker with network access to the management interface can request the page and recover the credentials without logging in; no data alteration or service interruption is demonstrated.
