Administrator account creation via tokenless cross-origin request
Published Oct 13, 2022 · Updated May 16, 2025
CSRF in ResIOT IOT Platform + LoRaWAN Network Server 4.1.1000114 and earlier allows remote attackers to create administrator accounts. The /UserorgApi/ endpoint accepts a cross-origin POST carrying account details under the victim's session cookie without an anti-CSRF token or origin validation. An administrator must remain authenticated and submit an attacker-hosted HTML form; success creates a privileged user with attacker-chosen credentials.
