Remote code execution via hard-coded database credentials
Published Jun 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in TitanFTP NextGen before 1.2.1050 allow remote attackers to execute code through its bundled SQL Server. The installer enables native SQL authentication, assigns the sa account a default password, and grants sysadmin rights to BuiltIn\Users. Exposure requires an installation that retained this SQL Express configuration; upgrade installations to 1.2.1050 remain affected.
