Authenticated file disclosure via SOAP entity expansion
Published Jul 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XXE in Unit4 ERP 7.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through a crafted SOAP request. The ExecuteServerProcessAsynchronously operation parses attacker-controlled XML with external SYSTEM entities, enabling out-of-band extraction over HTTP or FILE. Valid ERP credentials and network access to the SOAP service are required; the same primitive can send requests into internal networks.
