Arbitrary content modification via unchecked AJAX action
Published Oct 28, 2022 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Missing authorization in Bricks Builder 1.0 through 1.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to modify arbitrary WordPress content. The bricks_save_post AJAX action accepts save requests without checking the caller's capability for the targeted page, post, or template. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful requests can overwrite site content but do not independently disclose data or interrupt service.
