Cache poisoning via special-character parsing

Improper input validation in dproxy-nexgen allows remote attackers to poison DNS caches via domain names containing special characters. The resolver misinterprets zero-byte or period characters and stores the altered domain and address association in its cache. Exploitation requires inducing queries through a vulnerable forwarder and injecting spoofed upstream responses, which can redirect clients to attacker-controlled destinations without requiring authentication.
