CVE-2022-33972

Privileged information disclosure via microcode key miscalculation

Published Feb 16, 2023 · Updated Jan 27, 2025

Incorrect calculation in a microcode keying mechanism in Intel 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable Processors allows local users to disclose information. Intel identifies an incorrect calculation in the microcode keying mechanism but does not disclose which key input or derived value is miscomputed. Exploitation requires high privileges, local access, high attack complexity, and the affected CPU signature and platform identifier.
