Arbitrary site-option changes via missing authorization
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Flipbox 2.6.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to update arbitrary WordPress site options. Public advisories do not name the options-update handler; they establish that it lacks the authorization check needed before writing requested options. An authenticated Editor-level account is required; arbitrary option writes can alter site-wide configuration beyond that role's intended control.
