Code execution via malformed CXP file parsing
Published Oct 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.78 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious CXP file. The CXP-file parser fails to validate user-supplied data before a memory write, corrupting process memory. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page, after which code runs with the current process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
