SYSTEM code execution via DLL search path hijacking
Published Oct 12, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025
DLL hijacking in Dell GeoDrive before 2.2 allows local users with low privileges to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM. Dell identifies multiple uncontrolled DLL search paths but does not disclose the affected executables, library names, or searched directories. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and control of a searched location; successful loading runs the planted library in the SYSTEM security context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
