Admin stored XSS via unsanitized settings
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025
WP Humans.txt through 1.0.6 allows remote authenticated administrators to store cross-site scripting payloads through plugin settings. The settings handler stores administrator-supplied Humans.txt textarea content without sufficient sanitization or output escaping, allowing script execution when the stored content is rendered. Administrator access is required, and execution depends on another user or administrator viewing the affected page; the documented impact is limited to browser-side confidentiality and integrity changes.
