Code execution via out-of-bounds file-parser write
Published Oct 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Autodesk AutoCAD 2020 through 2023 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted design file. The X_B, CATIA, and PDF parsers write past an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled file data. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit malicious content, after which code runs in the current process.
