CVE-2022-33882

SYSTEM code execution via symbolic-link file deletion

Published Oct 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper privilege management in Autodesk Access, then called Desktop App, 8.4.0.50 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code. The update handler follows an attacker-created symbolic link during a file-delete operation, causing a chosen file to be deleted. Low-privileged code execution on the Windows host is required, and successful exploitation executes code as SYSTEM.
