SSL-VPN password disclosure via FortiTray log stream
Published Nov 2, 2022 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Information disclosure in Fortinet FortiClient macOS 7.0.0 through 7.0.5 allows local users to read an SSL-VPN password in cleartext. FortiTray places the password in the macOS logging stream without masking it, allowing a terminal log stream for that process to reveal the value. A low-privileged local session and user interaction with an SSL-VPN connection are required; the consequence is limited to disclosure of that credential.
