Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked filename copy
Published Oct 27, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Advantech R-SeeNet 2.4.17 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted POST request. The show_code.php endpoint copies the filename element into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating the user-supplied length. Authentication and user interaction are not required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary code in the service account context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
