Code execution via FNT parser out-of-bounds write
Published Oct 27, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Horner Automation Cscape 9.90 SP7 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a malicious FNT file. The FNT file parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing past the end of a memory buffer. A user must open the crafted file; successful exploitation runs code within the Cscape process and can corrupt its memory.
