CVE-2022-33750Network attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via empty-password account acceptance

Published Jun 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper authentication in the Automic agent in Broadcom CA Automic Workload Automation 12.2 and 12.3 allows remote attackers to execute commands. The UNIX agent accepts an existing local account with no /etc/shadow password when an empty password is supplied, then runs the requested command. Network access to the agent listener is sufficient; some commands require a valid login shell, while others can replace the account's shell from the request payload.
