Local file access via unchecked path traversal
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in LauncherProvider in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Aug-2022 Release 1 allows local users to access One UI files. LauncherProvider accepts attacker-controlled path components without sufficient validation, allowing traversal outside the intended file boundary. A low-privileged local application can reach the flaw without user interaction; published sources do not identify the exposed paths or access mode.
