CVE-2022-33696

Subscriber identifier disclosure via improper Telephony logging

Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Sensitive data exposure in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 12 before SMR Jul-2022 Release 1 allows local users to read IMSI and ICCID from logs. The Telephony service improperly writes both cellular subscriber identifiers to Logcat, placing them in a diagnostic channel accessible outside the service. Exploitation requires local access to device logs; the documented consequence is disclosure of subscriber and SIM identifiers, with no integrity or availability impact.
