Operation manipulation via score driver race
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
A TOCTOU race in the score driver on Samsung Mobile Devices running Android 10 through 12 allows local attackers to interleave operations. The driver lacks synchronization between its check and use steps, permitting malicious operations to be reordered before checked state is consumed. Reachability requires local execution on an Exynos 9820 device, and Samsung has not disclosed the reordered operations or resulting state changes.
