PHP object injection via imported-file unserialization
Published Oct 31, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025
PHP object injection in PublishPress Capabilities and Capabilities Pro before 2.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject objects. The Import/Export feature passes attacker-controlled imported-file content to PHP unserialization instead of using a non-object encoding. Administrator access on a multisite installation is required, and data access, file deletion, or code execution also requires another plugin or theme with a usable gadget chain.
