CVE-2022-33646

Local privilege escalation through client authentication

Published Aug 9, 2022 · Updated Jun 5, 2025

Privilege escalation in Microsoft Azure Batch Node Agent 1.9.0 through 1.9.26 allows local users to gain elevated privileges. Microsoft identifies the corrected locus only as client authentication and has not disclosed which credential or authorization operation was incorrect. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a high-complexity condition; success grants elevated privileges on the compute node.
