PHP object injection via unsafe import deserialization
Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
PHP object injection in Averta Phlox Core Elements before 2.10.7 allows context-dependent attackers to trigger gadget methods through imported files. The auxin_customizer_import AJAX action base64-decodes an uploaded import file and unserializes its content without restricting permitted classes. Exploitation requires an authorized user to import the crafted file and a compatible gadget chain on the WordPress site; the resulting behavior is limited by that chain.
