Unauthenticated code execution via crafted OPC packets
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Untrusted deserialization in Mitsubishi Electric SCADA servers allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted OPC DA packets. The GenBroker communication function accepts improperly validated packets from an external OPC DA server and deserializes their contents. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code in the server process.
